2025 Beaujolais Scenic Rally Tour

21-24 November 2025 – Montreuil-sur-Mer
After scrutineering, signing on and the competitors briefing on Friday evening the 44 Crews made their separate ways to enjoy a meal in the historic town of Montreuil-sur-Mer in the Department Pas-de-Calais.
Saturday morning was a cold start but with clear skies. Four Regularity sections awaited covering 113 miles. The route headed north to Samer before looking back to Montreuil-sur-Mer for a lunch stop and then out and back to Hucqueliers.
At the end of Day 1 Steve Wilson and Trina Harley in their Triumph TR3A had a 6 second lead over Mark Hartland and Tracey Miklaucich in their Sunbeam Alpine who were closely followed by Malcolm and Nik Rimmington in their Ford Anglia by just 3 seconds.
Sunday morning was even colder than Saturday but the wind had picked up and the sun did not turn up. To make matters worse we had rain and snow which made the second Regularity of the day quite interesting in places with only trye tracks to show where the road was.
The crews headed west to Fruges and then the Circuit de Croix-en-Ternois to catch a few laps of the 2CV entrance race taking place, unfortunately the weather was not for spectating in. An afternoon stop in Hesdin was the starting point for the last two short Regularities aimed at being the sting in the tail.
After the five Sunday Regularity sections covering 112 miles and a total of 31 Timing Controls across both days, the event was won with 57 seconds of penalties, the top three being covered by only 11 seconds.
The navigation was via tulip or descriptive text with a few curveballs thrown in, and rumours of cars going in all directions at places. Four of the 44 starting crews elected to just take part as a Tour so no timings were applied and they were able to do as little or as much as they wished following the same route behind the competitors.
The last Beaujolais Rally organised by the late Simon Rossiter was run in 2023 with 2024 being run as a Memorial run. It was an honour to be able to run this event once again as a competitive regularity event and for the first time under the Scenic Rally Tour banner.
One competitor wrote afterwards “I have to say that if dear Simon is looking down from on high he must be so pleased with the way his format has continued in the safe hands of Jon and the Scenic crew”.
